Hello and welcome to my blog.  Over the next several months I will be sharing with you my internship experiences in Beijing, China.  Before I get started though I feel I should tell you a little about myself.  My name is Charles Hanson and I am originally from Little Rock, Arkansas where I attended Little Rock Catholic High School.  After high school, I studied Financial Management and Investments at the University of Arkansas' Sam  M. Walton College of Business.  I graduated in May of 2010 and took a job in Plano, Texas.  It has always been one of my goals to earn my MBA so not long after graduating I started looking into possible graduate schools to attend.

It didn't take long for me to realize however, that the Walton College of Business was the best school for me.  I applied and was awarded a generous scholarship which waived out of state tuition.  I started the program in January and immediately began the hunt for a summer internship.  In addition to earning my MBA, another lifetime goal of mine was to spend some time working internationally.  This being the case, I was particularly interested in any overseas internship opportunities.  I attended an informational session for an internship in China and immediately sent an application.  To my delight I was accepted to participate and I've spent the last few months making arrangements.

After some delays, I finally received my passport about a week ago, and I am currently in the process of getting my visa in place and setting up my flight.  There are still a lot of things to take care of before I'll be ready for departure, but I'm very excited to be nearing the start of my internship in early June.  I know that this trip will be very enlightening and I hope that you will all enjoy hearing about about my experiences.
